The Montessori method of education facilitates ongoing observation and evaluation of the children by their teachers. Each year, parents participate in a multi-step evaluation and feedback process that begins in the fall with a private goal-setting conference with teachers. At the Elementary level, students participate in these conferences and conduct self-assessments. In January, a mid-year progress report provides a detailed assessment of first semester activities that is reviewed in conference with our teachers. The third step in the evaluation process is a spring conference during which second semester progress is reviewed and analyzed. In June progress reports and a final evaluation for the year are completed and sent home. Parents are invited to contact our teachers at any time throughout the year to schedule additional meetings as required.
